Combined four village map sheets on my phone in minutes
The editor worked perfectly on my phone. I uploaded the four adjacent survey sheets (S1, S2, S3, S4), aligned the edges where they meet, and exported a single print-ready map in minutes — no office visit and no surveyor needed. Best of all, the sheets stayed private on my phone the whole time. Simple, fast and accurate.
Joined my own FMB sheets in the editor — nothing to install
I downloaded my village map and FMB sketches and used the in-browser editor to join them myself. I just dragged each sheet onto the canvas and nudged the pieces with the arrow keys until the boundary lines lined up exactly. There was no software to install, and the maps never left my device. One payment covered the whole thing, and the export came out clean and sharp. Brilliant tool!
Got my combined FMB from home — no office visits needed
VillageMapJoiner made joining my land's FMB sketches really easy — I got the combined map from home without running to any office. When I asked for the old FMB, they clearly guided me that it's available at the District Collector office. Good service.
Incredible service for peace of mind!
I used this website to get a Joined FMB map, and the entire experience was seamless and fast. By combining individual sketches into one continuous view, it clearly illustrates how my property lines interact with adjacent plots. Having this definitive, highly accurate map leaves zero room for arguments and completely eliminates the risk of boundary disputes with neighbors. It is a fantastic platform that saves a lot of hassle—highly recommended!
What you can join
However many sheets it takes
There is no limit on the number of sheets, and they don't have to come from the same village.
Join two Survey numbers
Land recorded as two adjoining survey numbers has a sheet for each and neither shows the whole property. Put both on one canvas and the boundary they share lines up.
How it works →Join subdivisions of one Survey number
A survey number split between heirs or buyers is issued as a sheet per share. Bring the shares you need back together to see the parent parcel whole.
How it works →Show each share on one map
After a partition every share sits on its own sheet. Assemble them into a single map that shows who holds what, and how the shares sit against each other.
How it works →Prove a boundary against the next parcel
A boundary argument is about two survey numbers, and one sheet only ever shows one of them. Joined, the shared edge is visible in one drawing.
How it works →Join two villages
Land that crosses a village boundary needs island / plot sketch sheets from both sides. Place them side by side and the holding stops being two half-views.
How it works →Merge contiguous parcels for a layout
Several survey numbers bought together are one site on the ground and several sheets on paper. Join them into the single plan a layout, a valuer or an investor file needs.
How it works →Who uses it in Lakshadweep: Island families, advocates and government staff on Kavaratti, Agatti, Andrott, Amini and Minicoy use it for the common case here: a holding of several survey numbers or subdivisions, joined into one continuous map for a partition, a mutation, a bank loan or a boundary question.

Lakshadweep is one district made of small islands, and each inhabited island is its own revenue village. Land is described by survey number and subdivision on the island's survey map, and the land record extract says who holds each number. The records are kept by the Lakshadweep Administration's revenue offices, grouped into four sub-divisions: Amini, Andrott, Kavaratti and Minicoy.
Much island land is held by families rather than individuals. Many holdings are Tharavad property, held by a matrilineal joint family as a whole, and some land has a different history as Pandaram land, once the ruler's and later the government's. So read the record for who holds a survey number before you read the map for where it is.
The map still comes in pieces. A plot sketch covers one survey number, and an island's survey map runs across several sheets, so a coconut garden of three survey numbers is three sketches. Get each one from the revenue office for your island, then line them up along their shared boundaries in Village Map Joiner's in-browser editor. Nothing is uploaded.

Lakshadweep land records & documents
What each Lakshadweep land document is, and how to get it from Lakshadweep land-records office before you join the sheets in the editor.
Plot sketch
The survey drawing of one survey number, with its boundary lines and the subdivisions inside it. One sketch covers one number, so a holding of several survey numbers or subdivisions needs several sketches joined to be seen whole.
How to get it: Ask the revenue office for your island or sub-division, quoting the island and the current survey and subdivision numbers. Check the Administration's current online services first, since what is published online changes.
Island survey map
The survey map of a whole island, which is also its revenue village, showing every survey number with its neighbours, paths and the shore. It runs across several sheets, and it is what you need when the question is where a plot sits rather than its exact shape.
How to get it: From the revenue office for the island. Ask for every sheet your survey numbers fall on, not just the first, because the boundary you care about is often on the next one.
Land record extract
The revenue record of who holds a survey number and how it is classified: an individual, a Tharavad (a matrilineal joint family) as a whole, or government land. It gives the holder and the extent; it does not draw the land. Pair it with the plot sketch to see the parcel it describes.
How to get it: Issued through the Lakshadweep Administration's revenue offices. Use the survey and subdivision numbers written here for every map request, so the sketches you get match the record.
Mutation entry
The change in the land record that follows a transfer, an inheritance or a partition, including a share separated out of Tharavad property. Until it is made, the record still names the previous holder.
How to get it: Ask the revenue office for your island about the status of a mutation for your survey numbers before relying on the land record extract for a transaction.

FAQ
Questions people in Lakshadweep ask
- How do I get a plot sketch in Lakshadweep?
- Note the island, the sub-division and every survey and subdivision number exactly as your land record extract or deed gives them. Ask the revenue office for your island or sub-division for the sketch of each number. What is available online changes, so check the Administration's current services first. Then drag every sketch onto the Village Map Joiner canvas, align the shared boundaries and export one map.
- What is Tharavad land?
- Land held by a Tharavad, a matrilineal joint family, as a whole rather than by one member. Who can deal with it, and how a share is separated out, follows the family's customary law and the islands' land rules. The map shows the survey numbers; it does not settle who in the family holds what, which is a question for the revenue office and an advocate.
- Can anyone buy land in Lakshadweep?
- Transfers of land in Lakshadweep are restricted under the islands' own land regulation, which protects land held by the islanders. Whether a particular transfer is allowed is a question for the Administration's revenue department and an advocate, not for a map.
- Are my Lakshadweep land records uploaded anywhere?
- No. The editor renders, crops and joins the sketches entirely in your browser, so your survey numbers and land record details never leave your device. Nothing is stored on a server.
