Privacy Policy

Your files stay on your device

The app is built to work entirely in your browser. The PDFs you add, including any survey maps, FMB sketches or village maps, are rendered, cropped, joined and exported locally on your own device. These files are never uploaded to our servers and we never see, store or transmit your map content.

The one exception is a sheet you choose to send us. The editor supports every state in India, but we only have sample sheets from a few of them, so in the editor, once — and only once — you may see a small prompt asking whether we can keep the sheets on your board. If you tap No thanks, or ignore it, nothing is sent and nothing is kept.

If you tap Yes, the sheets on your board are uploaded to our server, and so is any sheet you add to it afterwards — the prompt says so before you tap it. Your browser remembers that yes, so sheets you add on a later visit are sent as well; whenever that happens the editor shows a notice saying so, with a Stop button beside it, and tapping Stopends the arrangement for that browser there and then. We use shared sheets to test the editor against your state’s format and, possibly, in a short demonstration video. Where a sheet appears in a video, identifying details such as names and survey numbers are blurred first. Shared sheets are stored on our own server, are never sold or passed to anyone else, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time using the contact details on this site — just tell us roughly when you sent it.

Sheets you send after closing the payment window. If you close the payment window and tell us you are not sure the editor will work with your sheets, we may ask whether you would like to send them to us so we can try them. Nothing is sent unless you pick the files and tap Send my sheets, and the screen says before you do that they will be uploaded. Those sheets, and any mobile number you add beside them, are uploaded to our server and used only by the developer to test and improve the editor. They are never used in a video, never sold or passed to anyone else, and you can ask us to delete them at any time in the same way.

Payments

Using the map editor costs a one-time access fee, which is processed through Razorpay, a third-party payment provider. When you pay, Razorpay collects and processes the payment information you enter (such as card or UPI details) under its own privacy policy. We do not collect or store your card or banking details.

To create and verify a payment, our server handles only the minimal transaction data needed (for example a Razorpay order ID and payment ID). This is used solely to confirm a successful payment and unlock your download or fulfil your order.

Our done-for-you service orders

If you place a paid order for one of our done-for-you services (a Combined Village Map, or an FMB Sketch sent on WhatsApp), we ask for the details we need to fulfil it: your email address, WhatsApp number, and the land details you provide (district, taluk, village, survey numbers and any comments). After your payment is confirmed, this order information is stored in our database so we can prepare your map and deliver it, and contact you about the order. We do not sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.

The in-browser editor never requires a name, email or phone number to join and export your own maps, and your map files never leave your device. It does invite a mobile number in two places, both optional: on the payment screen, so you can get back into the editor if you switch phone or browser rather than paying twice; and if a download fails after you have paid, so we can reach you and either deliver the file or refund you. A number given for either purpose is stored with your payment record and used only to sort out your own order.

If a download does fail, we also record technical details of the failure: the size of the map, your browser’s image limits, screen size, available memory and the browser version, so the fault can be found and fixed. That diagnostic covers your device’s capabilities, never the contents of your maps.

Information we collect

You do not need to create an account to use the app, and the editor requires no personal details. We only collect the email, WhatsApp number and land details you choose to provide when placing a paid service order (see above). Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability, as is typical for any website.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics provider is involved. To understand how the site is used, we keep our own first-party analytics: a random, anonymous visitor identifier stored in your browser, together with the pages viewed and a few product events (such as opening the order form). This is aggregate and is not linked to your identity. Essential browser storage is also used to remember your settings and keep the editor working.

Third-party services

The only third-party service involved in normal use is Razorpay, for payments. Government land-record portals you visit to download your maps (such as eservices.tn.gov.in or tnlandsurvey.tn.gov.in) are run by the Government of Tamil Nadu and have their own privacy policies.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
